Tired of all the new drums being filled with tons of low end resonance,
no matter what the size or application? Introducing the Blue Note drums,
designed with Jazz music in mind, it can be used by anyone that is simply
looking for a that classic melodic, dry tom sound, complimented by a washy
bass drum and snare.
Specs
Snare drums: Blue note snares start with a thin 6-ply straight
shell. We add a rounded bearing edge and a shallow snare bed, for that
warm, washy sound. Triple flanged rims are standard, but a popular upgrade is the vintage-style single-flanged "clip-style" counter hoops.
Tom toms: 8-ply shells with 8 ply reinforcement rings provide
a higher, more melodic tuning than the more contemporary thin shell. Medium
round bearing edges and medium vent holes provide a classic dryness to
the drum. Mounting brackets are placed directly on the shell. This gives
the drum a more controlled resonance to compliment this classic type of
drum. Snap your fingers if you dig it, man.
Bass drums: We start with a thin 6-ply drum with 5-ply reinforcement
rings, rounder bearing edges, and standard vent holes for a darker, warmer,
less direct sound. We suggest a smaller size (16"-18"-20") all sizes in
the Blue Note family. |
